Connecting the vivid world of Nickelodeon's beloved SpongeBob SquarePants to the high street, our café reskin project for Primark represents a perfect blend of cultural iconography and retail innovation.

Celebrating 25 years of the much-loved cartoon, we’ve helped Primark transform their popular cafés into vibrant undersea experiences across three key UK locations: Birmingham, Glasgow, and Manchester.

This strategic collaboration, crafted by We Love This, not only underscores our commitment to creating immersive environments but also showcases our dedication to delivering experiences that resonate deeply with audiences. We Love This spearheaded the creative conception, from initial visual motifs to the tangible outputs that customers engage with.

Every touchpoint of the café experience was meticulously designed to bring the underwater city of Bikini Bottom to the surface. The interior of each site was decked out with themed decorations that captured the essence of SpongeBob’s world, including the Krusty Krab and the iconic pineapple house, turning a simple café visit into an imaginative escape by blending the physical with the fantastical, allowing visitors to dine within “an animated world made real”.

Our team also designed bespoke packaging for food and drinks, from greaseproof paper and food boxes to drink cups and chocolate wrappers, ensuring a fully integrated SpongeBob atmosphere. The menu itself was a playful nod to the series, featuring items like the Pineapple Under the Sea Bubble Tea, Kelp Crunch Waffle, and the infamous Mr Krab’s Secret Sandwich, offering fans a taste of their favourite show.
